FREE Gaia U. Webinar!

Date: September 18th – Time: 9 AM PDT/12 PM EDT/4:00 PM UTC
Host: Laura Kaestele
Topic: Separation and World Views

Description: This call offers a space to talk about our worldview and stories around separation, face the pain and still be full of hope, make a positive change and inspire evolution towards connection. We will start by taking a closer look at our human story (I-We-World) and how the current global crises are the result of our worldview based on separation. Seeing the separation as a opportunity and potential we will share insights, experiences and discuss best practices to explore how we can shift human consciousness as well as how to tell and live a new story. The idea is to make individual/collective steps for transformation, discover our interconnectedness and co-create a more beautiful world our hearts know is possible.

Laura Kaestele (Bachelor program) is a hopeful and committed change agent, open-minded traveler and curious learner. She lived in a small intentional community in Germany for about four years and stays for project work in the ecovillage Sieben Linden right now. Her projects focus around social, ecological and economic sustainability. Collaborating and networking with other (young) people, her vision is to co-create a sustainable, just and fulfilling world.

Learning & Change: how mastery of our own creative practice is at the centre of sustainability

FREE Gaia U. Webinar!

Date: September 5th – Time: 9:30 AM PDT/12:30 PM EDT/4:30 PM UTC World Clock Time Converter

Host: Grifen Hope

Topic: Learning & Change: how mastery of our own creative practice is at the centre of sustainability

Description: Grifen will present an emerging theory of his own practice in the world, highlighting his understandings of learning as an individual and collective process of moving our minds. He will draw attention to learning/teaching as a means of empowering others to change, to realise their power, as new humans and active participants in the cocreation of a new world. Through a cycle of experiential learning participants will be invited to reflect on their own reactions, to identify common principles, and how each of us can apply these theories in our own practice.

Bio: Grifen Hope is a permaculture teacher and designer from New Zealand living in Chile. He runs the permaculture centre of El Manzano in the region of BioBio, which has operated as a catalyst for the emergence of the PRI Chile and a network of hundreds of highly active permaculture actionists, a learning community and living university. Born into a rural hippy community he grew up immersed in the search for local resilience. After the culture shock of merging into mainstream society, and determined not to play the rat race of competition and material, wealth he headed off to university in search of ways to transform the physical world towards a more just and resilient one. Empowered and frustrated he graduated with a degree in planning and design, abandoned the typical career pathway, instead choosing the role of pragmatic radical planner. South America opened his eyes to a new way of seeing the world, and stepping into a personal search for understanding of consciousness he has learned that the problems of the world are not external, but rather internal crises of perception.
